She Knows
I follow Imogen Heap on Twitter, but apparently wasn't paying close enough attention to her musical posts. I discovered a few new songs from her and this has quickly become my favorite. I love the Chinese aspect to it. I love the sound of Imogen's voice. I love this one line "Pretty Damn Good As You Are." Why did I capitalize every word there? I don't know, I felt it all needed to be emphasized.

Kill Her
Today's song is by a Hong Kong rock group called Ping Pung. The song is called "Kill Her." Not sure why, as I haven't read the lyrics. I just like the music and it always makes me think of ghosts or murder (wonder why?).
Great song though, as introduced to me by Pomegranate. ^_^

Disturbed
I believe in watching (and reading) things that disturb me, because if I am not disturbed by watching a little girl lying in the street after being run over by two vans whose drivers didn't care and passersby just stare and walk on or seeing a tiger trapped and dying of starvation/dehydration while its habitat is destroyed just miles from it or reading the numbers tattooed on the arm of a Jewish child in a concentration camp then I am no longer moved to action. I am no longer the person I want to be if these things no longer bother me.
So if these images disturb you, if they tear at your heart and eat at you don't just sit there. Don't just stand by and allow yourself to become desensitized to the horrors that go on around you!

Hua Tian Cuo
Today's song is by Wang Leehom or Leehom Wang. Not only is he talented, handsome and wonderful, but he was in my favorite Gackt movie ever! "Moon Child". And, to top it all off, this is my all time favorite song by him.
Hua Tian Cuo basically means "Mistake in the Flower Field". A beautiful title, truly! The video is pretty awesome too, because he can play old style Chinese instruments while singing of being in love and making mistakes! Got to love a man that can not only sing but play beautiful instruments too. Or at least I do!

Romare Bearden
Romare Bearden was an African-American artist famous for his collages.
Some Interesting Facts
* Had his first solo exhibition in 1940 in Harlem.
* Worked as a lead cartoonist and art editor for The Medley, a monthly journal.
* Received the National Medal of Art in 1987, the year before he passed away, from President Ronald Reagan.
* Bearden experimented with all different types of art including: Collages (which is what he became most famous for), Chinese landscape and calligraphy, Byzantine mosaics, Japanese prints and African art.
* Recurring themes in Bearden's work are ritual, music and family.
* He sometimes designed sets for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Company.

A Full Course Meal.
I suppose it is that time again, where I post something. I have been a little lax in posting the words of the day, partially because everything has been so crazy here. So, this is a short apology and a post just for you!

A Tabby cat named Zoe has adopted 3 abandoned BOBCATS. Everything is being done to protect the tabby and the bobkittens, and hopefully the bobkittens can return to the wild!

Stephanie Metz creates wool sculptures. That's right, she takes wool and a felting needle and creates beautiful sculptures with it. I love the pictures of her work!

France, known as the Romantic Country, is home to a very bizarre statue. Born of the Renaissance, this statue is called Transi de René de Chalon. It is a replication of the decomposition of the human body, a skeleton with dried flesh hanging from its limbs and holding its own heart. It once held the REAL heart of the person it was created for (René de Chalon, Prince of Orange), but that has long disappeared.

The picture that I am about to post is a new thing called the "bijini" It is the combination of jeans and a bikini. I would really like to know your opinions on it, as it seems really crazy to me. I kind of like it though. ^^

If you read the above articles then you now know about some horrible practices occurring in China. I don't even know what to say. I am in shock and horror and disbelief. I don't want to know this, but I do. I don't even know how to be up in arms about this, because reading these articles has left me with incredible amounts of dispirit and sadness. Sadness for the infants and sadness for a people that doesn't realize how ridiculous and horrible this is.

Get this, in a Mountain Commune in Kunming (Southern China) there is a village where you must be 4'3" tall to get in. I'm not kidding, it's a village made completely of dwarves or "little" people. I don't know which is politically correct anymore. Not only that, but they dress up like fairy tale characters to bring in money from Tourism! "As small people we are used to being pushed around and exploited by big people. But here there aren't any big people and everything we do is for us," said spokesman Fu Tien.

Not only that, but Obama was in Denmark to place the United State's bid to host the 2016 Olympics Games.

There is a lot of controversy in New York State today, because last night the Empire State Building was lit with the colors of Communist China, in recognition of their 60 years in power today. Apparently people are not happy with this, saying that it is the United States way of showing their support of Totalitarianism.
